The Catholic University Law School is formally known as the Columbus School of Law and is based out of the Catholic University of America. The Catholic University Law School is, as such, based out of Washington, D.C., and is placed at position #88 by the US News & World Report ranking of the country’s range of legal educational institutions. The Catholic University Law School has been open to students since 1897, when the Columbus designation was affixed to the institution in reference to a relationship with the Knights of Columbus Catholic service organization.

Among the notable programs hosted at Catholic University Law School, students can attend the Institution for Communications Law Studies, the Comparative and International Law Institute, the Interdisciplinary Program on Law and Religion, the Law and Public Policy Program, and the Securities Law Program.
Catholic University Law School has a relationship with the Krakow, Poland-based Jageillonian University legal program and provides for student exchange with the school. Catholic University Law School allows students to be certified as having Juris Doctor degrees through the alternative routes of three-year full-time courses or four-year part-time courses.
Catholic University Law School is estimated to receive about 3500 new applications for entrance each year. Among other publications, Catholic University Law School puts out the Catholic University law Review, the Journal of Law, Philosophy & Culture and the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy.
