Choosing the Top Law Schools

It is difficult to identify the best law school. However, many companies and publications have created an entire section of the publishing industry that goes in to identifying the top 100 law schools in the country, and in some cases around the world. These rankings of the top law schools have very narrow benefit to an individual, because the objective top 100 law schools by the standards of one organization or person may not include the top law school which is the appropriate choice for that particular individual.

There are narrow differences between whichever is the top law school and the next ten or twenty top law schools. The differences among the top 100 law schools are very minor. There exist differences in the schools listed among the top 100 law schools and a school that falls far outside the rankings of the top law schools. Therefore a listing of the top law schools that extends past the top 100 law schools may be helpful.

However, a listing of the top 100 law schools in terms of their comparative costs and the value of the degree granted by one of these top law schools cannot be overstated for an individual who has to fund their own education at one of these top law schools.
